Shane Black, screenwriter famous for the Lethal Weapon series amongst other classic movies, was reportedly paid four million dollars for the script of The Long Kiss Goodnight. The draft version linked here is not identical to the final filmed version, but in many ways, it's even better. Click here to read it.
To date, no official sequel to The Long Kiss Goodnight has been produced. However, John Gilheany has drawn a sequel in three parts, and kindly given me permission to host it here!

This is an interesting article on the evolving role of women in cinema. It refers to not one but two Geena Davis movies as examples of the Ass Kicking Babe genre, namely Thelma And Louise, and The Long Kiss Goodnight, obviously. :)
